06/09 Its been a pleasure :)

Once again I have had the great honour to report on the progress of my friend as she handed out a whupping to the English channel.  There are very few people on this planet I would get up for at 4:30am in the morning, not even santa! Michelle is one of them.

Right at this moment she’s making her way back on the viking princess and once again I find myself immensely proud to call her my friend.

anyway enough of all that mush from me, I will sign off, and the next installment will be from the woman of the moment, once she has recovered from her mighty exertions.

So with that I wish all of Michelle’s family and friends around the world  a pleasant morning, evening or night whichever it may be :)

06/09 – The Swim – Neptune strikes Dang Him

Just got this from the boat:

The sea and her emotions were a little to much for her today and she called it after 12 hours. No doublr today, maybe another time.

Jane

I wish I could have sent her some of the calm weather currently hovering over london, but still magnificent swim by Ms Macy and I’m pretty sure that I’m correct in saying all her family and friends are as proud of her and her accomplisment as I am.

next time I will employee the voodoo dolls for calm weather!

06/09 – The Swim – 10 Hours

Latest update:

Hit the 10 hr mark and we can see the shore through the fog.  It is still 1.5 miles but at least visible.  We got caught in a pretty strong cross current but MM powered through, and in her words ‘felt like she was swimming in circles’.

We have 1 boat beside us we think with a solo and 3 behing, 2 relays and not sure on the third.  Looks like th fog has not stopped anyone yet:)

06/30 – The Swim – 9 1/2 Hours

Latest Update from Jane:

Almost 9 hours in and about 2.5 miles from french soil.  Got socked wth some serious fog about 1hour ago abd temp dropped about 15 degrees and winds and swells picked up.  At her last feeding MM said she felt like she was swimming in circles!

Keep the comments coming they are really helping her power through to chop.

06/09 – The Swim – 7 Hours

Latest update from Jane :

Hour 5 and just about 1/4 milr from crossing into french territory which means almost half way!! Swimmer is feeling strong, the nice sunshine is helping to keep us all warm.

Jane

However I did get an update later on to say that they have hit some fog and a bit of choppy water. Michelle is still going strong , but the humour is definalty fading. So messages of support form all her friens would really be appriciated :)

I will try and get update on whose been sea sick out of the boat crew if I can :)

06/09 – The swim – 3 Hours

Latest news from the boat:

2nd feeding done

Confirmed 4 other boats out, one solo, a 4 person relay and a 6 person relay of teen agers!

We can see their boats but all started about 30 min behind us.

Sun sill shining and perdicted high of 85 today!  Time to load up on the sun screen.

Jane

3rd feeding and all is well. Just entered english shipping lane, and a couple of shops out there but no where near us at this time.

Swimmer doing well, looking very strong.

Jane

Just over 3 hrs in and she is looking strong. One ship decided to cross our path but only created some extra waves, nothing to bad. Can see many others but so far none have gotten close enough.

One jellyfish siting to date, but MM didn’t see it and we were not about to mention it.

Jane

Leroy again , if anyone has any pull with the big man upstairs and can get him to keep the jellyfish away, then would be much appreciated .
